Please note: To help stop the spread of Covid-19, we have currently suspended all trips. This temporary measure is for the safety of children and staff and will continue to be reviewed alongside our other measures.
Your child will go on regular trips to the library, our own allotment and the park, giving them the chance to develop their key skills in a different environment. They will also visit other locations in the community, such as trips to a local shop to help develop their numeracy skills by counting fruit. These provide an opportunity for the children to learn about the world around them and their community in a controlled and secure way.
These regular trips are complemented by outings to other exciting locations further afield such as Mountsorrel Farm, Beacon Hill and Loughborough Cinema. We also ensure that we celebrate major holidays and dates with themed trips or events. These have included a trip to an Indian restaurant for lunch to help learn about Diwali and a Bonfire Night celebration in the nursery garden.
Your child's safety and security are our first priority and each of our exciting trips are risk assessed. We provide an appropriate staff to child ratio, with our experienced team trained in paediatric first aid.
Our trips will help your child's development as they learn new skills in a different environment.
For example, on a trip to the local shops we might challenge numeracy skills by counting fruit together, support their understanding of the world by discovering different types of produce and develop their creativity and imagination by engaging in role play.
