Reducing your childcare costs

There are a number of schemes available which many families use to help reduce their childcare costs. Your eligibility and the amount of support available is dependent on factors such as household income, the number of children you have and the number of hours you work.

We are always happy to answer any questions you have on assistance with fees. More information can also be found on the Government's childcare choices website

Government's funded childcare scheme

At Rainbow, many families benefit from the Government's funded childcare scheme, which can reduce your monthly fees during term time or can be spread across the year. We can help you to apply for this and then we claim it on your behalf each term. Eligibility criteria are available on the scheme's website.

2 year olds

If your family is receiving certain government support (such as Universal Credit or Income Support), you may be eligible for 15 hours funded childcare per week for your 2 year old.

3 & 4 year olds

All children aged 3 & 4 are eligible for 15 hours funded childcare per week.

3 & 4 year olds

Working families are eligible for 30 hours funded childcare per week for your 3 & 4 year old.

Other schemes to reduce costs

You might also benefit from the following schemes to reduce the cost of your fees.

Tax-free childcare

Working families can get up to £2,000 per year towards childcare costs for children aged 0-11. For every £8 you pay into an online account, the Government will add an extra £2. More information is available here.

Universal Credit for childcare

If you are working and also claiming Universal Credit, you may be able to claim up to 85% of your childcare costs. More information is available here.
