Outdoors Learning and Play

Children love to be outside and we make full use of our large outdoor area throughout the day for free play or big group activities. Our outstanding facilities are designed to be used throughout the year and the large range of equipment means gives your child the opportunity to try different activities each day.

Whilst playing and having fun outside, your child is also learning about the world around them and developing their physical and social skills. Interacting with the outdoors has been proven to help children develop their motor and cognitive skills whilst having fun and so all age groups make full use of the facilities as much as possible.

Your child will be encouraged to explore the world around them, be it in our large multi-weather sandpit, our quiet nature area or by helping to dig and grow plants in our garden. The outdoor area is also designed to help develop your child's creativity - the art area gives space to make masterpieces while the music hut gives budding musicians a place to make some noise. For those children wanting more active fun, our climbing frames, slides and poles and range of cars and bikes are available.

A real adventureland!
Custom designed by one of the UK's leading suppliers of outdoor play spaces for children, the space uses wood, grass and nature to create the feeling of a real adventureland. Spread across the play area, your child can choose to play with:

  • A pirate-themed area with ship and pirate's wheel
  • The dinosaur kingdom
  • Our F1 race track with road markings and a range of cars
  • A custom-made activity and climbing frame
  • The digger and dumper truck area
  • Our relaxed music and creative zone
  • Story area
  • The exciting hill and slide

Safe and secure
The safe and secure equipment was specially designed for nursery children and suits all ages, moods and stages of development. Staff are on hand to support your child, offering encouragement and ensuring they are safe as they play.

Our allotment
Children love to dig, plant and grow things. This helps them to understand where our food comes from and to learn about the world around them. Our allotment is a five minute walk from the nursery and, in the summer months, children will visit to help plant and look after vegetables that they have grown and cared for in the classroom. This enables them to see a full growing life cycle from seed to plant to food, which we then use to create some tasty and nutritious meals.
