Children at Birstall Rainbow Nursery benefit from exciting adventures both in and out of the nursery to help them discover and grow.
To support your child’s development, we go on frequent day trips throughout the year in small or large groups. Curious about the world around them, these trips are a fun opportunity for the children to discover new places and new things in different settings.
Your child will go on regular trips to the library, our own allotment and the park, giving them the chance to develop their key skills in a different environment. They will also visit other locations in the community, such as trips to a local shop to help develop their numeracy skills by counting fruit.
These provide an opportunity for the children to learn about the world around them and their community in a controlled and secure way. These regular trips are complemented by outings to other exciting locations further afield such as Mountsorrel Farm, Beacon Hill and Loughborough Cinema.
We also ensure that we celebrate major holidays and dates with themed trips or events. These have included a trip to an Indian restaurant for lunch to help learn about Diwali and a Bonfire Night celebration in the nursery garden.
Experienced staff leading safe trips
The safety and security of your child are our first priority and each of these exciting excursions are risk assessed. We provide an appropriate staff to children ratio, our experienced staff are all trained in paediatric first aid and have equipment on hand for any bumps and scrapes along the way.
With 30 years of experience in caring for children, we know how to run trips and events with safety at the forefront.
Throughout the year, we host events for families to attend, ranging from our Summer and Winter Fete to the Christmas Nativity. Family involvement is encouraged in our events and trips, which provide a chance to socialise with other parents and our staff – helping to create a strong working relationship in a social environment.
