Safety and Security

Keeping your child safe is our number one priority and we recognise how important it is that you feel comfortable leaving your child in a secure environment. Ofsted has highlighted that our 'staff implement robust procedures throughout the nursery to keep children safe' and that our arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

Experienced staff
All our staff are trained in safeguarding, food hygiene and paediatric first-aid, with frequent 'top up' sessions and DBS checks are carried out on them as standard. Our staff are experienced in caring for children safely and many of them are long-serving members of the team, with some having been at the nursery for more than a decade. Our staff undergo continuous training to ensure that they are up-to-date on the latest best practice in childcare and safety.

All staff follow our robust policies covering allergies, sickness, medication and accidents to ensure that you can feel comfortable knowing that your child's individual needs are being cared for.

A secure nursery
In order to ensure that the nursery is secure, our front entrance remains locked at all time with access provided by staff. We build strong relationships with parents to ensure that the staff know who should be picking up each child and we have a password pick-up system in place if your child is collected by someone unfamiliar with the nursery.

As part of our approved safeguarding policy, we have a strict policy in place for staff, parents and visitors to prohibit the use of mobile phones or recording equipment in the nursery. All personal details are stored securely and can only be accessed by our staff.

A safe environment
Ofsted have praised our efforts to identify and reduce hazards inside and outside the nursery and staff do regular safety checks, checking all toys and equipment. Our large outdoor play area is safe and secure, with staff always supervising children.

Fire procedures are in place, we hold regular fire drills and our extinguishers are checked annually.

We are confident that the procedures we have in place ensure that every child in our care will remain safe and secure. Parents are welcome to view our policies and discuss any concerns they have with the management team.
